St. Kateri Tekakwitha
She spent her last three years at the mission caring for people who were sick and in need, and made a vow of virginity recorded as the first of its kind among the native peoples of North America.

St. Katharine Drexel
She gave away one of the great American fortunes and then her own life with it, founding and paying for nearly sixty schools and missions for Native American and Black children, and Xavier University of Louisiana.
