St. Wenceslaus
The duke of Bohemia raised Christian by his grandmother Ludmila and murdered by his brother; he has been called the patron of Bohemia ever since.

- NO DEATH YEAR IS GIVEN IN THE ONE_LINE, because the encyclopedia contradicts itself and both halves of the contradiction are held here. The article body says he 'died at Alt-Bunzlau, 28 September, 935'. The encyclopedia's own alphabetical index describes him instead as 'Wenceslaus, Saint - The patron saint of Bohemia, murdered by his brother c. 929'. A source that disagrees with itself by six years cannot settle the year, so the sentence is written without it. The 28 September feast is not in question.

It hedges his birth — 'born probably 903' — and contradicts its own index on the year he died. No document held here is contemporary with him. The rating is about the state of that evidence, not about whether he was venerated.
- STATUS: pre_congregation with status_year null. He died in the tenth century, before formal canonization existed.
- He is called the patron of Bohemia, and no act declaring it is held. The article names the title in its opening line — 'Duke, martyr, and patron of Bohemia' — and the encyclopedia's index calls him 'The patron saint of Bohemia'. Neither is a decree, and neither says who declared it or when. The article and the encyclopedia's index were both searched in August 2026 for the words a declaring act would use — declare, proclaim, constitute, decree, brief, bull — and the only hits are unrelated index entries. The title is old and real; the act behind it, if there is one, is not here.
