  • Catholic Encyclopedia (Herbermann, 1907-1913), 'St. Joseph' — states that the first chapters of Matthew and Luke are 'practically also the only reliable sources', and that the apocryphal literature, though full of detail, is not admitted to the Canon and its contents are under strong suspicion. NOTE: the encyclopedia predates the 1969 calendar reform and is NOT a source for the feast day. https://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08504a.htm
  • General Roman Calendar, 19 March — 'St Joseph, SPOUSE of the Blessed Virgin Mary'. Liturgy Office, England and Wales. https://www.liturgyoffice.org.uk/Calendar/Info/General-Roman-Calendar.pdf
  • St Joseph the Worker is a second celebration of the same saint on 1 May. The record carries 19 March, the principal one; a single feast_day field cannot hold both.
